I don’t make political posts very often nor do I go on very many rants, but maybe this is the right time for one…
So Donald Trump has been elected as President again and we should be rightfully excited about this. Celebrate today but tomorrow start right back where you left off on your preps, area studies, community building, and training. While the left is rather somber in their reporting today, they still hate you and me. In fact they hate us because of what we stand for and everyday that goes by this angers them more and more. They can not stand to see a people content with living joyful, peaceful, faithful, and fulfilling lives. They want to continue shoving their progressive views in our face. They want to continue to kill babies. They want to continue to demonize our values and beliefs. And they will continue to try and do so.
Now is not the time to relax and let up on the proverbial gas peddle concerning our own awareness of the world around us. Like our friend Risky Chrisky has said…
It is still dark on the horizon so let us use this time wisely to get ready. Here is what I suggest moving forward…
Before you buy another piece of kit work at putting aside another 3 months worth of food. You don’t NEED another chest rig or another AR, but you and your family will need food. Don’t forget water (and the means to process it), medications, hygiene items, and more…
Work at paying off debts and having 1 to 3 months worth of income put away (preferably cash) if you can. A large percentage of people are only one or two paychecks away from disaster and are not financially prepared for an emergency expense. I can speak from experience having been on both sides of this. Being debt free (besides your normal monthly expenses) is a wonderful thing.
Get an emergency power source. Even a small generator is better than nothing. If it is gas powered make sure you have adequate supplies of gas to keep it running. To add to emergency power have extra batteries, battery banks, and even a simple solar panel to keep small electronics running.
Work on your physical fitness and overall health. Both physical, mental, and emotional. Get fit and get right in your head.
Start a garden and learn to grow your basic vegetables. This is a great family activity.
Have backup means of communication and be practiced in how to use it. Open up those Baofeng radios you bought and put away and program them and practice regularly with them. You’ll be glad you did.
Build your tribe… Community will get you through tough times. If you haven’t already find a church to belong to (you may have to go to a few to find the right fit for you), join your local Eagles Club or Moose Lodge, find a local gun club or any outdoor oriented group, or volunteer at your local red cross/fire department/search & rescue group. Make contacts with people in your area.
Stock up on things like ammo (I like to recommend 1,000 rounds per rifle and 500 rounds per pistol as good starting #’s), medical supplies including antibiotics, tools and spare parts, alcohol (personal and for bartering), sleeping bags/blankets, and anything else to help keep things running.
Clothing items such as socks, underwear, coats, shoes and boots. Plus this is a good time to learn basic sewing skills.
Train… Go get dirty, cold, wet, and uncomfortable. Invite dudes to go do it with you. You don’t even need to pay big money to do so. There are manuals readily available to you including our own Citizen Manuals from The Professional Citizen Project that can help get you started out in the field.
I could go on but you get the point. We’ve been given a little bit of breathing room so it’s time to get after making sure we have everything secured and in place for us and our families to get through the pending storm.
Let’s be smart about how we do this moving forward. No more panic buying AR’s just to resell them in a year. No more spending $3-5k on NODS when you don’t have food put away or your financial house in order. No more buying the latest kit when you haven’t been training in the kit that you already have. No more credit cards if you have balances on existing ones. We can do this folks. Trump’s reelection just bought us a little time, take advantage of it.
Amen. Very well written. People shouldn’t get complacent because Trump won the presidency . Now that s the time to continue your preparation !
Keep stacking! If your not a little paranoid of goverment your not paying attention!
